Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Teacher to join our Mother's Day Out Program, an engaging early childhood (6 weeks thru 4 yrs old) initiative designed to nurture young children in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment. The Lead Teacher assists the Director in providing daily leadership within the classroom, fostering a Christ-centered, nurturing environment. This role oversees lesson plans for assigned age or classroom after hire and guides the co-teacher (if necessary) in daily activities. The Lead Teacher helps ensure the safety and well-being of all children while maintaining a positive, structured classroom. This includes applying program policies, providing appropriate discipline, and building strong relationships with children and parents. The Lead Teacher also supports the Director in establishing the vision and atmosphere for their assigned class , in alignment with the ministry's mission and values. Instructional Integrates biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout daily tasks Implements the WEE Learning program into their daily classroom structure Prepares and submits monthly lesson plans for the director's review Employs a variety of aids, methods, and materials that will provide for a creative experience to reach the whole child—spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, emotional Spiritual Models a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, attitudes Follows Matthew 18 principle in dealing with the children, parents, administration, and staff Shows support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for the care of their children, and assists them in the task Encourages children to accept God's gift of salvation and grow in their faith Emphasizes to children the reality of their self-worth in Christ Consistently attends, supports, and is a member in good standing at a Bible believing church Non-instructional and Professional Cooperates with the Director and church staff in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the program Maintains a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom Accepts a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned Seeks the counsel of the Director, colleagues, and parents, and is teachable Attends and participates in scheduled devotional, committee, staff and other designated meetings Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for dealing with emergencies Contributes to the general improvement of the program

Demonstrates the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality Meets everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism Exercises friendliness and consideration, treating students without partiality Submits respectfully and is loyal to constituted authority Maintains a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication; speaks with clear articulation. Develops and maintains rapport with children, parents, and other staff to promote a positive environment Recognizes the need for good public relations; represents Eastwood Baptist Church and the Mother's Day Out Program in a favorable and professional manner to its constituency and the public Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is highly preferred. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
