To Be Determined Job Description Kids in Action•Teacher After School Program K-5 Job Summary To provide a safe, nurturing environment with enriching, developmentally appropriate activities that provide opportunities for recreation, social development and create exploration for children in grades K-5. Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children, be alert to the needs of the children as individuals and as a group. Plan developmentally appropriate activities in the following areas; STEM, Arts & Crafts, Literacy, Group Games, Table Games, Outside & Gym activities, Music and Dramatic Play. Help children to engage in activities with others When required, work as a 1:1 with children needing support Participate in program activities and maintain enthusiasm as an example for the children. Keep all Kids In Action spaces clean, neat and organized. Participate equally in the daily set-up and breakdown of the physical space. Participate in ten hours of Professional Development, related to Early Childhood Development and Curriculum. Complete EEC StrongStart Professional Development. Complete First Aid and CPR training annually. Attend monthly Team Planning and Staff Meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a related field Experience in a classroom or camp setting Familiar with the MA Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations Excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team Experience with de-escalation techniques Physically able to lift items up to 20lbs.
