Job Description
Provides engaging instruction in digital literacy, digital citizenship, and student success skills. Prepares students to become responsible digital citizens while developing technology proficiency, critical thinking, communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Through project-based learning and advisory/seminar activities, the teacher supports students' academic, social-emotional, and career readiness development.
Essential Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in digital technology and seminar classes aligned with district and state standards.
Teach digital literacy, keyboarding, computer applications, digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use.
Integrate technology tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, multimedia applications, and educational software into instruction.
Facilitate seminar lessons focused on study skills, organization, goal setting, time management, communication, character education, and career awareness.
Design project-based learning experiences that promote creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Model and reinforce appropriate digital citizenship and ethical technology use.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, and professional development.
Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Library Science or a related field.
Valid state teaching certification: Digital Literacy/Computer Science (5-12) OR Library
Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
Knowledge of instructional technology, digital learning platforms, and classroom management strategies.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
