Position Responsibilities:
Teach engaging and developmentally appropriate health and wellness courses aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning and student participation.

Establish and maintain classroom expectations that promote accountability and personal growth.

Recognize and address the diverse needs of students, providing individual support as necessary.

Work closely with colleagues to coordinate and enhance the wellness program.

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects to communicate these objectives to students.

Assesses the accomplishments of students regularly and provides progress reports as required.

Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms and as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement if applicable.

Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.

Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.

Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program. Proficient in Google Apps, including Google Classroom.
