About New Teacher University
The New Teacher University is designed to provide community, support, and a space for early career professionals to practice new skills. The goal is for early career educators to deepen their knowledge and practice of social emotional learning, culturally responsive teaching, and key district initiatives around internalization and monitoring. New Teacher University provides early career educators the hours required by Massachusetts to advance their licensure in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
The Collins Middle School New Teacher University Facilitator will: Facilitate (6) 90-minute in person sessions for early career teachers on the following dates: Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Mar. 2, Apr. 6, May 4, June 1 (
•In-Person Graduation, no session held on June 1st)
Design sessions aligned to school and district goals around internalization, monitoring, and feedback
Incorporate key texts, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain and Improve Every Lesson with SEL, into the sessions
Facilitate practice clinics within sessions based on trends
Keep impeccable records of attendance for each session
Total Compensation:
$810 for 6 sessions and 90 minutes of planning per session

Job Requirements:
Availability to facilitate sessions on the following dates: Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Mar. 2, Apr. 6, May 4, June 1 (
•In-Person Graduation, no session held on June 1st)
Current Collins Middle School teacher or coach Has a professional license
Earned proficient or exemplary on the last formal summative evaluation
