Job Description

Get Directions The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Gifted & Talented Teacher at Century Elementary. This position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering the intellectual and creative potential of gifted and talented students. The ideal candidate will create a stimulating learning environment, implement differentiated instruction, and collaborate with teachers and parents to support the unique needs of these exceptional learners. The Gifted and Talented(G&T) Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering targeted instruction that both challenge high-achieving students and support learners in closing achievement gaps. This role emphasizes proactive academic support, differentiated instruction, and data-driven practices to ensure all students reach their highest potential. The position is 10 hours per week or .225 FTE at $21,000 for the 26-27 school year. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum tailored to the needs of gifted and talented students.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, interests, and areas for growth, using data to inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide differentiated instruction and support for gifted learners within the general education setting.
  • Design and facilitate enrichment programs, workshops, and extracurricular activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide professional development and support to staff on best practices for teaching gifted and talented students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and provide resources for supporting learning at home.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting interventions and strategies as needed to ensure academic growth.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to promote a culture of excellence and high expectations for all students.
  • Stay current with research and trends in gifted education and advocate for the needs of gifted and talented students within the school community. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Gifted Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Gifted Education or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with gifted and talented students in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of gifted education.
  • Familiarity with current educational technology and resources to enhance learning experiences.
