Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a dedicated educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction. This contract role offers the opportunity to support high school students for the full school year, working approximately 20 hours per week in a supportive educational environment. You'll play a key role in providing specialized instruction, advocating for students' needs, and collaborating with school staff to ensure every student thrives academically and socially.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Expertise in supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss Experience working with high school-aged students preferred Proficiency with assistive listening devices and adaptive technology Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver customized instruction to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Assess student needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement accommodations Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Advocate for student inclusion and accessibility within the school community Participate in IEP meetings and relevant staff development
