Job Description

Create an environment that gives parents/guardians the confidence of excellent care and well-being of their children. Create a physical environment that conforms to the North Carolina and COSKids standards of health and sanitation, nutrition and food preparation, child-teacher ratios and the physical safety and well-being of children and staff. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe classroom. Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment. This includes creating a classroom that is print and picture rich, is stocked with developmentally appropriate toys, games, and supplies, allows students to have a quiet place to focus on their homework, and allows students to participate in enrichment activities. Create and implement weekly lesson plans that provide children with opportunities for a variety of enrichment activities, including Bible study, character development, art, music, dance, drama, sports, science, literacy, math, social studies, computer, monthly clubs, etc., making sure all activities follow the COSKids mission and goals, and meet the children's needs in physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Assist children with their homework, providing guidance and encouraging academic growth. Ensure that children receive the proper amount of physical activity each day. Assist in the implementation of yearly special events, including the Christmas Program, Talent Show, and other special performances. Supervise children and monitor their behavior, keeping an accurate headcount at all times. Release children to authorized individuals only. Supervise children on field trips, making sure all children stay with the group, remain safe, and behave in a manner that best represents COSKids to the community. Implement a behavior management system, focusing on positive reinforcement with developmentally appropriate consequences. Provide adequate rest/quiet time each day (camp days only). Assist younger children in the bathroom, with changing clothes, or with applying sunscreen as necessary. Keep families informed of all classroom activities, child behavior, and child academic and social progress on a regular basis. Model appropriate behavior and Christian values at all times.
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
