Job Description
Job Summary Caters to the needs of Middle & High School Students Delivers classroom lessons, provides targeted academic and social-emotional interventions, and administers assessments and progress monitoring to support student achievement. Instruction is provided through whole-class, small-group, and one-on-one settings using evidence-based practices. Responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction using state-approved curriculum frameworks, district pacing guides, and Common Core and/or state learning standards. Develops and implements engaging lessons across core subject areas, including English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, using direct instruction, collaborative learning, project-based learning, inquiry-based activities, and technology-enhanced instruction. Adapts curriculum and differentiates lessons to meet the diverse academic needs of students while promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and real-world application of skills. Evaluates student progress through formative and summative assessments, analyzes data to guide instruction, maintains a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborates with colleagues and families to support student achievement and academic growth. Teacher delivers standards-aligned instruction in core subjects, including Social-emotional, Life skills and Conflict Resolution while integrating case management and support plans, assessment and student performance data. This position collaborates with educators, families, and support staff to ensure students receive the individualized support needed to achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. Responsibilities Create individual student support plan: Pathways, Colleges, Testing, Assessments Design and implement curriculum tailored to diverse student needs, including special education and k12 (Middle & High School curriculum_ Develop and utilize learning management systems (LMS) to track progress, deliver resources, and facilitate communication among staff and families Conduct comprehensive student assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and appropriate interventions Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literacy, math, physical education, life skills and other core subjects aligned with assessment data Apply evidence-based academic interventions within a multi-tiered framework to support student growth at varying levels of need Manage classroom environments effectively through behavior management techniques and conflict resolution strategies Collaborate with teachers, specialists, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies Analyze student performance data regularly to evaluate progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly Ensure compliance with educational regulations while maintaining high standards of classroom management and instructional quality Utilize instructional design principles to create inclusive lesson plans that incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods Skills General Education Teaching Education Providing counseling, coaching, mentoring, or therapeutic-informed student support Curriculum Specialist or Instructional Coach School Counselor Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Mental Health Counselor School Social Worker Clinical Social Worker Behavioral Intervention Specialist School Psychologist Occupational Therapist (OT) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Educational Therapist Relevant Skills and Experience:
