The Tully After School Program is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Lead Teacher (Group Coordinator) to join our team! As a Lead Teacher, you'll help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where school-age children can learn, play, and grow. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone interested in education, child development, recreation, or youth programming. Our Lead Teachers oversee one of our three age groups during the school year and work more broadly within the program during our Summer Program.
What You'll Do :
As the Lead Teacher for your assigned group [Prek/ K, 1st-3rd, 4th & 5th], you will: Plan and lead engaging educational, recreational, and social activities and programming for your age group. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. Supervise children and maintain compliance with New York State OCFS regulations. Provide guidance and direction to Program Assistants assigned to your group. Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with the children, their families, and fellow staff members. Oversee the set up, orderliness, and daily maintenance of your classroom. Support children's social, emotional, and behavioral development using established program expectations. Work collaboratively as part of a team and complete additional duties as assigned by the Program Director. Qualifications Is at least 18 years old Has a high school diploma or equivalent Has experience working with children in child care, education, recreation, camps, or related settings Highly preferred that individual holds or is working toward a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, a School-Age Child Care (SACC) Credential, or a degree/certification in a related field as indicated by OCFS. Prior to or shortly after hiring, individual must also: Complete the New York State
OCFS 6000
hiring requirements Pass fingerprinting and all required background clearances Provide documentation of a current physical examination and TB screening Complete required OCFS Health & Safety and Child Abuse/Maltreatment training within the first month of employment Obtain CPR/First Aid certification and Medication Administration Training (MAT) within six months of hire Complete all required annual professional development training

Program and expected working hours are as follows:
School-Year Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM-5:30 PM [20-25 hours/week]
Summer Program Schedule:
