The Bluffton Family YMCA located in Bluffton, OH is seeking an individual for our after school program to join our team. We are looking for applicants that are available to work the following shifts: Monday through Friday, 3:00pm
  • 5:30pm
PAY RATE
$11.00 per hour
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Bluffton Family YMCA After School Program staff member is responsible for providing a safe, fun, and supportive environment for school-age children during the after-school program. Staff greet students as they arrive from school buses, supervise daily activities, assist with homework, encourage positive social interactions, and ensure the well-being of all participants while promoting the YMCA's mission and values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Meet school buses at approximately 3:00 PM and safely assist children as they arrive at the program. Maintain active supervision of children at all times to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Plan and lead age-appropriate games, recreational activities, and group programs. Provide homework assistance and encourage positive study habits. Foster respectful behavior, teamwork, and inclusion among participants. Build positive relationships with children, parents, school staff, and fellow YMCA employees. Enforce YMCA policies, safety procedures, and behavior expectations. Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents following YMCA protocols. Assist with setting up and cleaning up activities and program areas. Communicate any concerns regarding participants' behavior, health, or safety to the Program Director. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be dependable, responsible, and enjoy working with children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise groups of school-age children in both indoor and outdoor settings. Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required. CPR/First Aid certification will be obtained within the first 60 days of hire. Ability to pass required background checks in accordance with YMCA policies. Physical Requirements Ability to actively participate in games and recreational activities. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. CERTIFICATIONS
Current CPR and First Aid must be obtained within 60 days of employment
