Responsibilities:

Position implements ZooKids preschool programming during the school year for the Zoo's 3-year-old and 4-5-year-old classes. Job functions include, but are not limited to, delivering educational programming; actively participating in activities and classroom management; ensuring the overall safety and well-being of preschool-aged children; setting up and cleaning up program activities; and preparing lessons and activities.

Hours:

September through May The first day of class is September 8. (Optional to attend) Meet the Teacher night is the evening of September 1 & 2.

Hours would be:

Tuesday/Thursday 8:30-4:00 Wednesday/Friday 8:30- 1:00. Two week break at the end of the year.

Qualifications:

Experience teaching preschool aged children preferred. Able to work well with young children. Able to balance multiple assignments successfully. Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain). Able to work successfully in a team setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently. Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior. Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy. Subject to BMV check.
