Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher to inspire and engage students in grades six through eight. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for mathematics, develop critical thinking skills, and support diverse learners in a vibrant educational environment. You will be instrumental in designing innovative lessons, implementing curriculum standards, and nurturing students' academic growth while promoting a positive learning atmosphere. Duties Deliver engaging math lessons aligned with curriculum standards, focusing on topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math. Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and abilities. Utilize educational technology and IT-integrated lessons to enhance student understanding and participation. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and productive learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives. Provide academic advising and mentorship to support students' personal and educational development. Incorporate scientific research principles into lessons when relevant, especially in relation to math applications in science disciplines like biochemistry or microbiology. Engage in ongoing professional development related to classroom management, instructional design, and new educational technologies. Support students from diverse cultural backgrounds by adapting teaching methods to meet various learning needs. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred. Proven experience teaching middle school mathematics or equivalent age group in a classroom setting. Strong knowledge of math topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and proof techniques. Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation of standards-based education. Experience integrating technology into lessons and utilizing learning management systems effectively. Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues alike. Ability to adapt instruction based on different learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated classroom management skills with a focus on behavior management strategies. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in middle school education. Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is a plus. Prior private school or Montessori teaching experience is advantageous but not required. Pay:
$60,428.00 - $76,069.00 per year
