Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Ignite curiosity and foster a love for science with this rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a general education middle school science teacher for the academic year. Make a meaningful impact by engaging students in dynamic lessons, supporting their growth, and contributing to an inclusive school environment. This position involves teaching a general education science caseload with possible interaction with SPED students, who will have access to an assigned special education teacher for additional support. The role is onsite, requiring exceptional classroom management and a dedication to student achievement.
Qualifications:
Active teaching certification or licensure relevant to general education middle school science required Bachelor's degree required (essential for those seeking an emergency teaching permit) Previous school-based teaching experience, including work in urban educational settings Demonstrates subject matter expertise and instructional proficiency Able to complete all Pennsylvania clearances prior to start Reliable transportation for daily commute Capable of working onsite from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM without schedule modifications Strong classroom and behavioral management skills Comfortable adhering to district guidelines and adapting to the school environment
Responsibilities:
Create and implement lesson plans aligned with state and district science curriculum standards Differentiate instruction and utilize formative assessments to address diverse learning needs Engage students with innovative activities and scientifically rigorous coursework Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to cultivate a positive learning atmosphere Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching approaches accordingly Participate in parent-teacher communications and required school meetings Enjoy the stability of a full-time, 35-hour work week with a start date as soon as possible, continuing through June 10, 2027.
