Pleasant Grove Reports to : Administration Salary starting at: $48, 216.00 ; variable determined by current licensure, pertinent classroom experience, and education attained. This position also qualifies for the ESA•. •This position is also eligible for an additional educator salary adjustment (ESA) pay of $10,660.50, which is determined by a valid, current state license per Utah Code 53F-2-405 and licensure remaining in good standing.

Spectrum Academy is a premier Charter School that specializes in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 80% of our student body receives Special Education Services. HS CTE Teachers are responsible for providing career and technical instruction in the high school setting that meets state standards and provides for the IDEA requirements of students.

Essential Job Functions:

Classroom Environment & Structure Structured Learning Environment:

Establish and maintain a predictable, structured, and inclusive physical classroom environment tailored to diverse learning, sensory, and mobility needs.

Routines & Transitions:

Design and execute daily routines, visual schedules, and explicit expectations that maximize instructional time and minimize transitional downtime.

Sensory & Accessibility Management:

Integrate environmental accommodations and sensory supports to facilitate student engagement, focus, and comfort throughout the school day.

Data Collection & Compliance Data-Driven Monitoring:

Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate quantitative and qualitative data on student behavior and goal progress to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

Documentation:

Prepare objective, timely documentation regarding behavioral incidents, progress reports, and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) in compliance with district policies and federal SPED mandates.

Behavior Intervention & De-Escalation Implement Behavior Plans:

Implement, monitor, and evaluate individual and classroom-wide Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in alignment with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Proactive Classroom Support:

Utilize evidence-based classroom management techniques, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and trauma-informed practices, to encourage self-regulation and positive social interactions.

De-escalation & Safety:

Apply approved crisis prevention, de-escalation, and intervention protocols to ensure the physical and emotional safety of students and staff during behavioral crises.

Staff Direction & Supervision Supervise Support Staff:

Direct, schedule, and delegate daily responsibilities to paraprofessionals, instructional aides, and 1:1 support staff to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral strategies.

Team Alignment:

Model and train classroom personnel on specific behavior management techniques, safety procedures, and individual student accommodations.

Collaboration & Communication Multidisciplinary Alignment:

Partner with school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and administrators to align behavioral supports across all educational settings.

Parent & Guardian Engagement:

Maintain regular, transparent communication with families regarding behavioral successes, challenges, and home-school behavior management strategies. FERPA and Data Security Training Employee must complete annual employee trainings including but not limited to FERPA and Data Security training and abide by all privacy and confidentiality laws in terms of student and other employee information
