Job Description
Pre-K After School Staff (Part-Time) The Open School - Laramie, Wyoming Position Summary The Open School is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Pre-K After School Staff Members to join our team. In this role, you will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children at the end of their school day. You'll supervise children during play, enrichment activities, and transitions while supporting their social, emotional, and physical development. If you enjoy working with young children and are looking for a rewarding part-time position, we'd love to hear from you! Schedule Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Additional substitute hours may be available for those interested. Lunch aide position of 11:30-12:30 M-F is also posted Summer hours in June and July for summer camp are available each year, optionally Responsibilities Supervise children during our after-school program, ensuring a safe and positive environment. Engage children in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities, games, art projects, and free play. Encourage positive social interactions, problem-solving, and respectful behavior. Assist with afternoon snack, cleanup, and daily routines. Support children during transitions and dismissal to authorized adults. Maintain a clean, organized classroom and outdoor play areas. Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide consistent care and supervision. Follow all Wyoming Department of Family Services licensing requirements and school policies. Qualifications Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, classroom, camp, or similar setting is preferred. Patient, positive, dependable, and enthusiastic. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to actively supervise and engage with children in both indoor and outdoor settings. Knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidance is a plus. Requirements Must successfully pass a background check. Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Why Join The Open School?
