Position Description:
1) Participate in Training and Professional Development Participate in training related to program facilitation, activity development, workshop planning, and museum education. Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen skills in informal learning and youth engagement. 2) Expand Educational and Enrichment Opportunities for Youth Develop and facilitate educational activities that promote hands-on learning and exploration for youth. Create workshops and interactive learning experiences that align with museum exhibits and educational goals. Develop programming for seasonal camps and youth enrichment opportunities. Gather participant feedback and develop recommendations to strengthen future programming. 3) Develop Informal Learning Activities Design and facilitate hands-on learning activities that support current museum exhibits and educational themes. Create educational resources and take-home materials that extend learning beyond the museum experience. Develop activity plans and instructional materials that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration. 4) Foster a Welcoming Museum Environment Welcome visitors and provide information about museum exhibits, programs, and services. Respond to visitor questions using approved resources and museum information. Identify opportunities to enhance the visitor experience and communicate recommendations to site staff. 5) Represent AmeriCorps and the Putnam Museum at Community Events Participate in museum events and community outreach activities that promote educational programming and AmeriCorps service. Develop and facilitate hands-on activities that engage visitors of all ages. Engage with community members to increase awareness of museum programs and educational opportunities. Document event outcomes and develop recommendations to strengthen future outreach efforts.
