Home Job Info Teaching Role Description/Criteria St Brendan's Primary School, in Flemington, is a community Catholic school where everyone is known by name, We place learning and student well being at the heart of all we do, with a commitment to helping every child find their spark . We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Instrumental Classroom Music Teacher to deliver high quality classes to our students. The successful applicant will be willing and able to fulfil the following Key Selection Criteria , demonstrated through: A commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic Education. A strong commitment to child safety and the protection and wellbeing of students. The skills and ability to engage, inspire and empower students through a rich and rewarding instrumental music program. A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development. Enthusiasm, motivation and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Appropriate qualifications and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
Responsibilities and Criteria include to:
? Teach a range of musical instruments in weekly lessons, including drums, keyboard, guitar, ukulele and percussion, to students in Prep-Year two. ? Teach additional weekly drum, keyboard and guitar lessons through small-group sessions. ? Drive and coordinate musical performances for students, both at school and within the wider community. ? Work collaboratively with the Performing Arts team to develop and produce the biannual School Production. ? Engage and empower students through rich, rewarding and inclusive musical experiences. ? Create, build and embrace a positive, collegial and team-based approach to teaching and learning. ? Develop and maintain positive partnerships with parents, families and the wider community. ? Participate in and contribute to various school-organised events and activities as required. ? Write formal academic reports that align with school report-writing guidelines. ? Monitor the progress of each student and provide meaningful, regular feedback on their learning and musical development. ? Demonstrate competency and confidence in the use of digital technologies to support teaching, learning and communication.
