Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide effective instruction in the subject area, helping to fulfill the College's goal of providing a quality education for all students attending CTC. Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required with minimum requirements for the position include eighteen graduate credits in Philosophy, with coursework that aligns with Philosophy classes offered by CTC . Prefer Ph.D. or equivalent degree and/or professional work experience in the field. Prefer three years of teaching experience. Effective classroom management and student engagement skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills.
Must be computer literate:
to include ability to handle e-mail, downloading, and internet. In addition, the position requires proficiency in Blackboard or other LMS and a good working knowledge of MS Office, or similar software. Teach lecture and online course(s) according to syllabi and textbooks, as approved by Central Campus to include daytime, evening, and weekend classes. Assist in development and maintenance of online courses. Counsel and advise students to assist them in obtaining their educational goals. Maintain office hours. Advise the departmental assistant of needed supplies, tools, equipment, printing, etc. Maintain and submit certified rolls and enter final grades into the system by deadlines set by the Registrar. Keep current in field and maintain needed continuing education. Participate in CTC committees and groups, and perform any other duties, as assigned by department chair.
