Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity available for an experienced Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to make a meaningful impact in a K-12 school setting. This full-time contract position is available immediately and runs through February, with the potential for extension. You will work with a manageable caseload of about 10-15 students, helping them achieve physical education goals tailored to their unique needs. Located just a short distance from beautiful Huntington Beach, this role provides a rewarding chance to work with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Your expertise will be vital in supporting students' physical development and fostering an inclusive, positive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid credential in Adaptive Physical Education or eligibility for appropriate state certification Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students, particularly those requiring adaptive programming Ability to write comprehensive, legally sound reports and conduct assessments with attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Expertise in implementing individualized education plans focusing on physical education
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and implement adaptive physical education programs for a diverse student caseload Assess student abilities and create tailored lesson plans aligned with individual needs and IEP goals Maintain thorough and legally compliant documentation and reports Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attending IEP meetings and sharing progress updates Encourage student participation through engaging, adaptive activities that promote confidence and well-being If you are committed to helping students thrive and meet their unique goals, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills in a supportive environment.
