REMUNERATION:

Salary and benefits competitive and commensurate with experience, as per the Newtown Teachers' Association contract.

Position Purpose:

Newtown High School is seeking an energetic, student-centered educator to join our Physical Education and Health Department. In this dual role, you will design and deliver dynamic curricula that inspire students to value lifelong wellness and physical fitness. We are looking for an educator who values interdisciplinary learning, collaborates naturally with colleagues, and uses progressive, student-focused assessment methods.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Must hold Connecticut Teaching Certificates in both Physical Education (044) and Health Education (043). Demonstrated ability to implement modern, alternate assessment methods and a commitment to interdisciplinary instruction. Strong classroom management, high emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and a tech-collaborative approach to teaching.
