Job Overview Crossroad Academy is seeking a passionate and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to inspire students to develop a lifelong love for health, fitness, and active living. In this dynamic role, you will design engaging physical activity programs, foster teamwork and sportsmanship, and promote overall well-being among students. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated to participate, learn new skills, and achieve their personal best. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive PE curricula that align with educational standards and promote physical literacy, motor skills, and healthy habits Lead engaging lessons that incorporate a variety of sports, fitness activities, and creative movement exercises to cater to diverse student needs Integrate learning technology and LMS (Learning Management Systems) to track student achievements and communicate progress with parents and staff Adapt lesson plans for students with special needs or those requiring individualized attention, including working with children with autism or in special education programs Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular activities such as sports teams or fitness clubs Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and behavioral reports; proofread documentation for clarity and professionalism Qualifications Minimum qualifications: Must possess a valid Florida Department of Education teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12). Proven classroom management skills with experience working with children across various age groups Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum development, literacy education, math integration, and childhood development principles Experience using LMS platforms and learning technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and administration Background in teaching physical education within private schools or Montessori settings is preferred Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, academic advising, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education practices Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with autism or special needs populations; experience in childcare or preschool environments is advantageous Passion for promoting health literacy through creative writing of lesson plans that inspire active participation
