Job Summary:
Edu-Aids is seeking a motivated and compassionate Adapted PE Instructor to join our team in Canal Winchester, OH. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students with diverse learning and physical needs develop motor skills, physical fitness, confidence, and social interaction through individualized and inclusive physical education programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement adapted physical education lessons based on students' individual abilities and needs. Modify physical activities, equipment, and instructional techniques to ensure accessibility and participation. Provide direct instruction to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Support students in achieving physical education and IEP-related goals when applicable. Assess student performance and monitor progress throughout the school year. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to promote student success. Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation. Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment during all physical education activities. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Special Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. Valid Ohio teaching license or certification in Physical Education preferred. Experience working with students with disabilities in educational or therapeutic settings preferred. Knowledge of adaptive physical education principles and inclusive teaching practices. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff. Commitment to supporting the unique needs of all learners.
