Job Description
Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking an Adaptive PE Teacher for the school year to support students with diverse physical and learning needs. In this school-based role, you will assess students, design individualized adapted PE goals, and deliver engaging, inclusive instruction that aligns with IEPs. You'll collaborate closely with special education teams, therapists, and families, document progress, and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Provide adapted physical education services to students with diverse disabilities in school-based settings. Conduct assessments and develop individualized PE goals aligned with students' IEPs. Plan and deliver safe, engaging, and inclusive PE lessons that support motor, sensory, and functional skills. Monitor, document, and report student progress toward IEP and program goals. Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and school teams to coordinate services. Communicate with families and school staff regarding student needs, goals, and progress. Ensure a safe environment by managing behaviors and following safety and crisis-prevention protocols. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning and decision-making. Adapt equipment, activities, and environments to accommodate a wide range of abilities. Engage in ongoing professional development to support best practices in adapted physical education.
