Job Summary Bright Star Kids Academy is seeking a dynamic, organized, and strategic Assistant Director to support the daily operations and educational leadership of our early childhood education program. In this key leadership role, the Assistant Director will partner with the Director to oversee staff, ensure compliance with licensing regulations, support curriculum implementation, and maintain a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for children and families. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader with strong administrative skills, a passion for early childhood education, and a commitment to excellence in child care management. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the daily management and operation of the child care center, ensuring compliance with all state licensing regulations and company policies. Support the implementation and monitoring of developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom practices. Supervise and mentor teaching and administrative staff through coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities. Conduct classroom observations to ensure quality care, effective teaching practices, and compliance with licensing standards. Assist with staff scheduling, attendance tracking, and classroom ratio management. Support enrollment efforts, family engagement initiatives, tours, and parent communications. Help manage center budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain operational efficiency. Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping for children, staff, and licensing requirements. Address parent concerns professionally and foster positive relationships with families and community partners. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees. Participate in strategic planning initiatives to support center growth and educational excellence. Serve as Acting Director in the Director's absence. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in child care administration , leadership, or center management within a licensed child care setting. Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations, child care operations, and early childhood education best practices. Experience supervising staff, conducting evaluations, and supporting professional development. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in administrative systems, recordkeeping, and budgeting. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Experience working directly with children and families in an early childhood education environment. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Preferred Qualifications Director credentials or eligibility to obtain Director credentials in accordance with state licensing requirements. Experience with child care management software and enrollment systems. Knowledge of Quality Rated standards and accreditation processes. Benefits Competitive salary based on education and experience. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
