Childcare Center Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-8:00 PM Grayson Academy is seeking a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Closing Manager to join our management team and oversee center operations during the afternoon and evening hours. This position is ideal for an experienced childcare professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership. The Closing Manager works under the Director and Owner and is responsible for helping ensure classrooms remain in compliance, staff are meeting expectations, children are receiving quality care, attendance is accurate, and the center is properly closed each evening. This is not a sit-at-the-desk management position . We are looking for someone who is comfortable being visible throughout the center, checking classrooms, providing direction to staff, stepping in when needed, and taking initiative when something needs attention. Schedule Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-8:00 PM The Closing Manager must be dependable and able to consistently work until the center closes at 8:00 PM. Flexibility is also required to provide additional management coverage when the Director is out due to vacation, illness, or other absences. Compensation Starting pay is based on your verified Georgia Professional Development System (GA PDS) Career Level . This position receives an additional $2.00/hour management differential for the leadership and operational responsibilities of the position, plus the standard $1.00/hour closing differential for working until 8:00 PM.

GA PDS Level 1: $15.00/hour GA PDS Level 2: $16.00/hour GA PDS Level 3: $17.00/hour GA PDS Level 4: $18.00/hour GA PDS Levels 5 & 6: $19.00/hour GA PDS Level 7: $20.00/hour GA PDS Level 8: $21.00/hour GA PDS Level 9: $22.00/hour GA PDS Level 10: $23.00/hour Credentials and GA PDS Career Levels must be verified before the corresponding starting rate is applied. Annual performance evaluations are conducted, with opportunities for merit-based raises based on job performance and evaluation scores. Key Responsibilities Serve as the on-site manager during assigned afternoon and evening hours. Regularly monitor classrooms and provide direction and support to teaching staff. Monitor staff-to-child ratios and ensure classrooms remain in compliance with Bright from the Start requirements. Ensure children are actively supervised and receiving appropriate, quality care. Ensure teachers are following classroom schedules, routines, lesson plans, and center expectations. Address concerns when expectations are not being met and communicate significant concerns to the Director or Owner. Monitor classroom attendance and child counts throughout the shift. Ensure children are accurately checked in and out of Brightwheel. Monitor classroom transitions and combining of classrooms as children leave for the evening. Receive children arriving from school buses and ensure they are properly accounted for and checked into Brightwheel. Answer incoming telephone calls and assist families during afternoon pick-up. Assist with routine parent questions and concerns. Input weekly attendance into the CACFP program. Assist with classroom coverage when needed. Drive center buses when needed and all required driving qualifications have been met. Monitor classroom and building cleanliness. Ensure staff complete assigned cleaning and closing responsibilities before leaving. Complete a final walkthrough and ensure the center is properly closed and secured each evening. Provide management coverage when the Director is out, which may require temporarily adjusting the normal work schedule. Perform other duties as needed to help the center operate safely and smoothly. What We're Looking For Experience working in a licensed childcare center required. Previous lead teacher, supervisor, or childcare leadership experience preferred. Familiarity with Bright from the Start rules and regulations. Strong understanding of classroom ratios and active supervision. Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work until 8:00 PM. Comfortable providing direction to staff and holding others accountable. Able to identify problems and take initiative without waiting to be told what to do. Strong communication and organizational skills. Able to multitask and prioritize in a busy childcare environment. Comfortable stepping into classrooms when needed. Professional when communicating with staff and families. Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed to keep the center running smoothly.
