Celebration Academy Director About Celebration Academy Celebration Academy is a wonderful outreach ministry to both church families and the surrounding community. The Academy offers a developmental curriculum of classes for children ages 15 months to kindergarten. Classes are held two, three, four or five days a week depending on the age of the child. All classes are 9:00 to 1:00. All children in the community are welcome into our program. We strive to maintain a welcoming and nurturing Christian, developmentally appropriate environment for children of all backgrounds and abilities. About the
Position and Qualifications:
Celebration Academy s Director acts as the de facto school leader and face of Celebration Academy. Their leadership and stewardship of the organization models Celebration Church s values and is rooted in the Christian faith.
Primary qualifications include:
Feel the call to and have a passion for ministry with preschool age children and their families that is grounded in the Christian faith. Become a covenant member of Celebration Church, if not already a member. Significant experience in preschool/elementary age education and ministry Strong Communication Skills Experience and skills in leadership, organization and planning Serve as a knowledge expert in early childhood development Ability to lead and motivate others Partner with a variety of audiences, including staff, volunteers, preschool families and church staff CPR and First Aid certified Ability to pass a criminal background check Bachelor s degree required The Director reports to the Preschool Leadership Team and the Pastor of Celebration Church. The following are members of the
Preschool Leadership Team:
Administrative Assistant, Financial Secretary, the Assistant Director, and the Director. Presents status report to the Celebration Church Board of Directors twice a year. This position includes a salary plus benefits.
Primary responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assume responsibility for the daily operation for the program Act as a liaison between the preschool leadership team, the staff of Celebration Academy, the preschool families and Celebration Church leadership team. Manage the leadership team and their responsibilities Manage each teacher and their schedules Oversee marketing of the school including social media posts Facilitate school tours Provide community outreach Participate in preschool committee meetings and planning Maintain policies and procedures for program operations Oversee and maintain budget including payroll, parent costs, and fundraiser Evaluate all staff Conduct Chapel Purchase curriculum Ensure classrooms are developmentally appropriate and using program curriculum Help teachers who have students with extreme behavioral issues or learning issues Address teacher issues, concerns, and handle any staff disciplinary issues or concerns Supervise registration and enrollment Manage Program data including class lists Oversee After school Programs Maintain and update handbooks for staff and parents Oversee Room Moms, parent volunteers and substitutes Coordinate all safety and security measures Act as a liaison between school and any special education services a child may need or receive Plan school calendar year Develop Master Schedule Facilitate summer training for all staff Lead staff meetings Oversee all staff and staffing decisions Assessment of operational and physical needs Remain current of issues and trends in early education Provide opportunities for team building and staff collaboration Provide a vision for program development Inventory and purchase supplies, ensuring that workroom is well stocked Hire, manage and dismiss employees as needed Implement safety procedures Provide support for staff Maintain respectful and helpful relationships with staff, students, parents, and church staff Model and use appropriate praise and nurturing of students and staff Treat all fairly with no favoritism Maintain a visible presence to staff, students and families Ensure each child is safe while at school Conduct parent meetings Address and handle parent concerns Maintain a tidy building
Attendance Requirements:
The Director will follow Hall County School Schedule for all days off and holidays from mid-August through the end of the school year for the Academy in May. During June and July, the Director may work at their discretion.
