Job Description

Job Summary:
The Center Manager is responsible for daily oversight of Head Start Center operations to assure compliance with high-quality program standards and assists center staff in implementing and providing support services for the children and families enrolled in Head Start. This position supervises Center staff in accordance with Head Start requirements, agency policies and all other applicable laws and regulations. Bachelor's degree required. Key Responsibilities Monitors for a safe and healthy learning environment for all children, including children with disabilities. Responsible for total center operation with included cleanliness of facility. Record keeping and assuring confidentiality is maintained. Empower families to provide the health care for their children and work in conjunction with the Health Services Coordinator to set up preliminary screenings and medical and dental appointments and gather all information regarding health management. Recording and monitoring monthly attendance and meal count. Attend workshops, meetings, activities, and training as scheduled. Assist with planning, training, workshops, recruitment, registration and other activities for the parents and families. Assure that all records and reports are submitted to the HS Coordinator in a timely manner. Assist with recruiting volunteers within the Head Start families and community. Establish a good rapport with the community and service agencies. Provide support for identified health concerns in coordination with Health, Nutrition and Mental Health and follow-up. Responsible for accuracy of time sheets and approving annual and sick leave for center staff. Complete annual performance evaluations for all center staff within time frame required. Assures that teachers are implementing the curriculum as required by Head Start Policy and Procedures. Utilize the monthly monitoring tool. Conducts two required staff meetings monthly. Assists in gathering information for community assessment. Minimum Requirements of the Position Bachelor's degree required Must have experience in administration and supervision of staff. Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551) Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT
TO EXCEED 6 PTS
) Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children.
