We are seeking someone who believes in our philosophy, and who is able to implement a student-centered and differentiated instruction classroom. The ability to work collaboratively, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to work closely with families is essential. Experience and knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach and the ability to speak in Mandarin is a plus. The Assistant Director will assist the Educational Director in managing all aspects of operational and program planning at the preschool. Duties encompass supervising the preschool, developing curriculum, conducting staff training, nurturing family relationships, engaging with the community, and addressing preschool needs. This role offers a chance to gain experience and potentially lead your own school in the future. The Assistant Director is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Understanding and implementing the Reggio Emilia philosophy and curriculum to achieve the early education center's educational objectives. Ensuring compliance with all New York City Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Education (DOE) regulations, meeting enrollment and participation rate contractual obligations, and assisting in fulfilling all requirements. Conducting formal and informal teacher observations. Overseeing student assessments to identify strengths, areas needing improvement, and necessary interventions. Assisting the Education Director in organizing schedules, maintaining attendance logs, developing lesson plans, managing snacks, planning trips, submitting supply requests, and addressing programmatic needs. Upholding discretion in handling all confidential matters and information. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with teachers and parents. Involvement in all facets of daily program operations, including communication with school administration, teachers, and custodial staff. Enforcing all policies and procedures outlined in the Kuei Luck handbook. Assisting in managing, training, and coaching preschool staff and teachers. Supporting the Education Director in various duties as required to achieve program goals. Demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, meeting deadlines, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. These responsibilities are essential to ensuring the smooth operation and educational success of the center.
Education and related work experience:
A bachelor's degree in early childhood education. NYS Certified Teacher 5 years of teaching experience Supervisory experience in an early childhood setting

Compensation:
$65,000. - $70,000
