Hours:

2:30 PM - 4:30 PM This is NOT simply a childcare or supervision position. We are specifically looking for an experienced educator who has a strong background in Early Childhood Education and knows how to teach young children foundational academic skills. The Director will be responsible for ensuring our teachers are providing structured, high-quality instruction and will actively train, coach, and guide teachers on how to teach children effectively. Key Responsibilities Oversee the educational component of our afterschool program for children ages 3-5 . Develop and implement a structured, age-appropriate academic curriculum. Train and coach teachers on effective teaching methods. Observe teachers in the classroom and provide direct feedback and support. Demonstrate lessons and teaching techniques when necessary.

Ensure teachers are properly teaching:

Letter recognition Letter sounds and phonics Numbers and counting Early reading skills Writing and pre-writing skills Basic math and number concepts Vocabulary and language development Kindergarten readiness skills Develop lesson plans, educational activities, and learning goals for classrooms. Ensure teachers are following the curriculum consistently. Evaluate the effectiveness of classroom instruction. Monitor children's educational progress. Identify children who may need additional academic support. Maintain high expectations for teachers and classroom instruction. Provide teachers with the tools, strategies, and materials necessary to improve their teaching. Work closely with administration to continuously improve the educational quality of the program.

REQUIRED

Qualifications Applicants MUST have a professional background in education.

Candidates must have:

Experience working with and educating children ages 3-5 . Strong knowledge of Early Childhood Education . Strong understanding of how to teach preschool and Pre-K children. Experience teaching letters, phonics, numbers, early reading, writing, and mathematics . Experience developing or implementing educational curriculum. Ability to train and coach other teachers . Strong classroom-management skills. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to observe a classroom, identify weaknesses in instruction, and implement improvements. Experience as an Educational Director, Early Childhood Director, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Coach, Lead Teacher, Pre-K Teacher, 3K Teacher, or similar educational leadership role is strongly preferred. Who We Are Looking For We want an experienced educator who can walk into a classroom and immediately recognize whether children are receiving strong, age-appropriate instruction. You must be comfortable holding teachers accountable, correcting ineffective teaching practices, demonstrating better teaching methods, and implementing a consistent educational program across classrooms. The right candidate should understand what a 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old should be learning and know how to teach those skills in an engaging, developmentally appropriate way.
