Are you an experienced early childhood educator ready to take the next step in your career? Lightbridge Academy of Blue Bell is looking for a motivated, energetic, and hands-on Director of Education / Assistant Director to join our leadership team! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Director, or childcare administrator who is ready to grow into a larger leadership role. Our ideal candidate is someone who can balance educational leadership with the realities of running a busy childcare center. You'll spend time in classrooms coaching teachers and ensuring curriculum quality while also partnering with our administrative team to support staffing, families, compliance, enrollment, and daily center operations. What You'll Do As our Director of Education / Assistant Director, you will play an important role in both the educational and operational success of our center.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead and support curriculum implementation throughout infant, toddler, preschool, and Pre-K classrooms Conduct classroom observations and provide meaningful coaching and feedback to teachers Review lesson plans and ensure teachers are prepared to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities Mentor Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and newer educators Help teachers strengthen classroom management, routines, transitions, and learning environments Ensure classrooms are organized, engaging, clean, safe, and prepared for children each day Support teacher onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing professional development Recognize strong teacher performance while also addressing areas requiring improvement Assist with staff accountability and ensure center policies and procedures are consistently followed Monitor compliance with Pennsylvania childcare regulations, health and safety requirements, and company standards Conduct classroom walkthroughs, observations, and quality assurance checks Assist with maintaining required staff, classroom, and compliance documentation Partner with the Center Director on staffing, scheduling, classroom coverage, and daily operations Step into classrooms when necessary to support staff and maintain required teacher-to-child ratios Communicate professionally and confidently with families Support new-family orientations, tours, classroom transitions, and enrollment efforts Assist with family concerns and help create positive solutions Build strong relationships with children, families, teachers, and fellow administrators Support center events, family engagement activities, enrichment programs, and special events Assist with opening and/or closing responsibilities as needed Serve as a leadership presence when the Center Director is unavailable Jump in wherever needed to help the center operate successfully Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is more than a great teacher. You may be a great fit if you: Have professional experience in early childhood education or a licensed childcare center Have experience as a Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Director, Director, or similar leadership position Are passionate about helping teachers grow and succeed Are comfortable providing both positive feedback and constructive coaching Have strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Understand what a high-quality early childhood classroom should look and feel like Are organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once Communicate professionally with staff and families Take initiative instead of waiting to be told what needs to be done Are dependable and understand the importance of being present and punctual in a leadership position Are flexible and willing to help wherever the center needs support Can remain calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment Enjoy being an active, visible leader rather than spending the entire day behind a desk Qualifications Early childhood education experience required Childcare leadership, supervisory, or curriculum experience strongly preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred Candidates with a CDA and significant early childhood experience may also be considered based on qualifications Knowledge of Pennsylvania childcare regulations preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and leadership skills Must meet all Pennsylvania childcare background clearance, health, and training requirements This Position Is Perfect for Someone Ready to Grow If you are currently an experienced Lead Teacher or Education Coordinator and have been thinking, "I'm ready for more," we encourage you to apply.
