In this role, you will inspire young learners by creating a vibrant, engaging outdoor educational environment that fosters curiosity, exploration, and growth. Your leadership will ensure that children experience hands-on learning through nature-based activities, outdoor play, and child-centered instruction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to blend early childhood education with outdoor adventure, promoting holistic development in a safe, nurturing setting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to nurturing children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills while maintaining a lively and positive classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate outdoor preschool activities that promote exploration, physical activity, and environmental awareness. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum focused on child development principles, literacy education, math skills, and physical education. Manage classroom routines and behavior management strategies to create a safe and respectful learning environment. Collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to plan engaging lessons that incorporate outdoor learning opportunities. Communicate regularly with parents about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and incidents. Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs. Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, safety protocols, including first aid and CPR readiness. Foster a love of nature by guiding children in outdoor activities that enhance their understanding of the environment and promote physical health. Experience 6 years prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is required. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for early childhood education environments. Experience managing classrooms with behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions. Knowledge of childhood development stages, special education needs, early intervention strategies, and mandated reporting laws. Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members about student progress and classroom activities. Classroom experience incorporating literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and standardized testing preparation is preferred. Minimum of 24 ECE units required. Mandated reporter certificates and CPR/First aid certification is required; additional certifications in childhood development or early childhood education are advantageous. Horse, barn animal and/or gardening experience is a plus.
