Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Preschool & Early Education Programs, the Substitute Preschool Teacher provides temporary instructional services in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Preschool Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while implementing lesson plans, classroom routines, and instructional activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development of preschool-age children. Assignments may vary in length and location based on program needs and may require travel between district preschool sites. EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS
- AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, (preferred.)
- Possess a current Child Development Permit.
- Site Supervisor Permit Preferred
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid California Drivers' License
- Proof of Immunization Verification (Senate Bill 792): Required immunizations; Pertussis, Whooping Cough, Measles and Influenza (flu)
- Proof of TB Clearance
- CPR/First Aid Certification Copy of Transcript (Minimum of AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field) CPR/First Aid Certification (VALID CPR/First Aide Certification) Driver's License Copy (VALID State issued Drivers License) Health (Proof of Immunization Verification (Senate Bill 792): Required immunizations; Pertussis, Whooping Cough, Measles and Influenza (flu), TB) Resume Child Development Permit•Site Supervisor Requirements / Qualifications Substitute Information Substitutes work part time and are on-call and as-needed at various locations.
