College courses in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Six months of experience in an early childhood program or other paid position working with young children. Nature of Work Must be able to do the following: Communicate effectively with infants, toddlers, their parents, and other staff.
Show patience & a sense of humor Provide quality, nurturing care to infants and toddlers enrolled in the program. Manage a group by yourself or with an Assistant Teacher with infants/toddlers. Ratio 1:5 under 3 yrs Plan and implement an age-appropriate curriculum with Frogstreet.& Zoo Phonics w/Safari Sid Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental & social/emotional needs of infants and toddlers. Conduct and document developmental screenings and assessments of children. (ASQs) Maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff. Lift, bend, squat, kneel, reach & be on your feet or on the floor for most of your shift Give input on your ideas/opinions, but be flexible/comfortable with change Suggest changes/improvements if so desired Ability to physically do the job, bend, lift above your head, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, move around frequently & have eyes/ears always on alert We are
