VPK Instructor Holly Hill, FL 32117 $18 an hour - Part-time $18 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Instructor to inspire and educate young children in a dynamic early childhood education setting. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, foster a nurturing classroom environment, and support children's developmental milestones through innovative teaching strategies. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help lay a strong foundation for children's future learning success, ensuring they develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional growth, and physical development. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other progressive teaching methods. Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning, curiosity, and positive behavior management. Deliver age-appropriate lessons focusing on literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills to children in the VPK program. Monitor and assess each child's developmental progress through observations, standardized testing, and documentation to tailor instruction effectively. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and upcoming activities to foster strong home-school connections. Ensure classroom safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining cleanliness, and implementing first aid and CPR procedures when necessary. Collaborate with colleagues to plan special activities, field trips, and parent events that enhance the learning experience for young children. Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools is required. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Experience developing curriculum content that incorporates literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Familiarity with special education needs and early intervention programs to support diverse learners. Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners about student progress and classroom activities. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in Montessori teaching or preschool education are advantageous. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations within early childhood education environments.
