•Midtown or Buford Position Summary The Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, physical, and developmental growth of preschool-aged children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing the Bright Star Kids Academy curriculum, preparing children for kindergarten, maintaining classroom routines, documenting developmental progress, and providing high-quality care and instruction. The Preschool Lead Teacher serves as the classroom leader and is expected to model professionalism, accountability, effective communication, and positive classroom management while ensuring compliance with Bright Star Kids Academy policies and applicable Georgia child-care regulations. Essential ResponsibilitiesClassroom Leadership Lead the daily operation and organization of the preschool classroom. Establish and maintain consistent classroom routines, schedules, and expectations. Create a structured environment that encourages independence, responsibility, and positive behavior. Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom. Delegate appropriate classroom responsibilities to assistant teachers and support staff. Ensure classroom duties are completed throughout the day. Serve as a positive role model for children and fellow staff members. Child Supervision & Safety Maintain active and continuous supervision of all children. Conduct regular headcounts and ensure every child is accounted for during transitions. Never leave children unattended or unsupervised. Maintain required classroom ratios at all times. Follow all BSKA safety, supervision, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures. Immediately report injuries, accidents, safety concerns, or unusual incidents to administration. Ensure children are appropriately supervised during classroom, playground, meal, nap, and transition periods. Teach and reinforce age-appropriate safety expectations. Curriculum & School Readiness Implement the BSKA preschool curriculum and weekly lesson plans. Provide developmentally appropriate instruction and hands-on learning experiences. Support kindergarten readiness through age-appropriate instruction in: Early literacy and language Pre-writing and fine-motor development Early mathematics and counting Science and discovery Social-emotional learning Problem-solving and critical thinking Art, music, movement, and creative expression Encourage children to participate in discussions, ask questions, make observations, and express their ideas. Provide activities that promote independence, communication, cooperation, and confidence. Modify activities when necessary to support individual developmental needs. Maintain lesson plans and required curriculum documentation. Classroom Management Establish clear, consistent, and age-appropriate classroom expectations. Use positive guidance, redirection, and supportive behavior-management strategies. Teach children appropriate ways to communicate feelings, solve conflicts, and interact with peers. Avoid inappropriate discipline, yelling, shaming, or punitive practices. Document and communicate recurring behavioral concerns according to BSKA procedures. Work with administration and families when additional behavioral support is needed. Child Development & Assessment Observe children's developmental progress and classroom participation. Complete required assessments and developmental documentation accurately and on time. Identify potential developmental concerns and communicate them appropriately to administration. Provide individualized support based on each child's developmental level and learning needs. Encourage children to develop age-appropriate independence with personal care, classroom responsibilities, and social interactions. Parent & Family Communication Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents and guardians. Provide appropriate daily information regarding children's activities, meals, rest periods, learning experiences, and classroom participation. Communicate concerns regarding behavior, development, health, or safety to administration. Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families. Establish positive relationships with families while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Refer serious or sensitive parent concerns to administration. Health, Sanitation & Classroom Maintenance Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization throughout the day. Follow all required cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting procedures. Ensure toys, furniture, learning materials, and classroom equipment remain clean and safe. Follow proper handwashing and hygiene procedures. Follow BSKA health, allergy, meal, and sanitation policies. Assist children with appropriate personal-care routines while encouraging independence. Complete assigned classroom cleaning and closing responsibilities. Documentation & Technology Complete required classroom records accurately and on time. Maintain attendance, daily logs, lesson plans, assessments, and other required documentation. Use the Playground App according to BSKA procedures. Ensure required classroom information is entered accurately. Immediately notify administration of missing, incomplete, or inaccurate documentation. Leadership Expectations As a Preschool Lead Teacher, this position is expected to provide strong classroom leadership by: Setting a high standard for classroom professionalism. Maintaining an organized and productive classroom. Holding classroom support staff accountable for assigned responsibilities. Modeling appropriate interactions with children. Assisting with training and modeling expectations for assistant teachers. Communicating classroom concerns to administration promptly. Accepting coaching and implementing feedback. Demonstrating strong organization and time-management skills. Maintaining a positive and solution-focused attitude. Supporting the overall mission and culture of Bright Star Kids Academy. Professional Standards The Preschool Lead Teacher must: Arrive on time and be prepared to begin classroom responsibilities at the scheduled start time. Follow all BSKA attendance, timekeeping, dress code, cell phone, and technology policies. Remain actively engaged with children throughout the workday. Limit personal cell phone use while supervising children. Use professional and respectful language with children, families, and coworkers. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Follow the established chain of command. Communicate safety, staffing, classroom, and parent concerns to leadership. Remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviors or stressful situations. Demonstrate accountability for the overall operation of the classroom. Minimum Qualifications Associate Degree or CDA preferred/required based on applicable Georgia child-care staffing requirements. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with young children , preferably in a preschool classroom. Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification. Must meet applicable Georgia child-care background-check and employment requirements. Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Understanding of kindergarten-readiness concepts and preschool learning standards. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced early childhood environment. Physical Requirements The Preschool Lead Teacher must be able to: Lift and carry young children when necessary. Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and move throughout the classroom. Participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Maintain active supervision for extended periods. Move quickly and appropriately in response to children's needs or emergencies. Assist children with personal-care and classroom activities. Pay:

$17.00
