Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Start Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in a vibrant early childhood education environment. In this role, you will create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that foster curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills. You will serve as a positive role model, building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues to promote a supportive learning community. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, emphasizing literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management. Deliver child development instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress through assessments and standardized testing to inform instruction and communicate growth to families. Foster open communication with parents and guardians through regular updates, conferences, and collaborative planning to support each child's development. Ensure classroom safety by adhering to health protocols such as first aid and CPR certifications while maintaining cleanliness and organization. Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, share best practices, and participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development and preschool teaching strategies. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in an early childhood or preschool setting, including classroom management and behavior management skills. Knowledge of curriculum development techniques that support literacy education, math skills, physical education, and overall childhood development. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention strategies, mandated reporting laws, and child welfare policies. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred. Experience teaching physical education or implementing standardized testing is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that incorporate childhood development principles while fostering a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
