Job Description

MATURA Head Start Preschool Overview Join our dedicated early childhood education team as a Head Start Classroom Associate! In this vital role, you will support young children's development and learning in a dynamic classroom environment, fostering a nurturing space where every child can thrive. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help lay the foundation for lifelong success, ensuring children receive high-quality early education aligned with federal standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working alongside experienced educators and families. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and early childhood education principles. Support classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and a respectful learning environment. Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times. Collaborate with teachers to monitor individual student progress, especially those with disabilities or special needs such as autism. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share updates on children's development and address concerns proactively. Maintain classroom organization, including educational materials, supplies, and documentation in compliance with educational regulations. Use computers and educational technologies to enhance learning experiences and track student progress efficiently. Requirements The right candidate will possess excellent communications skills, flexibility in their daily duties, the ability to work as a team, compassion for working with children and families, and a strong work ethic. Previous early childhood experience, and a CDA or an AA degree, is preferred, however, we will train the right candidate. Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management techniques, and educational compliance standards. Familiarity with special education practices and experience supporting children with disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and team members. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners.
