Kids Programming Lead

Job Description

Sun Valley Resort is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable Kids Programming Lead to support both our preschool and camp programs for children ages 2-5. This year-round position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young children's growth and development by leading creative play, structured activities, and exceptional guest service while collaborating closely with the Director and Assistant Director. A successful candidate will supervise preschool programming and lead recreational winter camp activities during the school year. During the summer months, they will supervise summer camps.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Preschool Support Lead daily lesson plans and maintain classroom schedules. Prepare materials and equipment for lessons and activities. Support each child's intellectual, social, and emotional development. Maintain clear and positive communication with parents, coworkers, and leadership. Assist students one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce concepts or complete assignments. Maintain classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization. Ensure compliance with all applicable school and state regulations. Summer & Winter Camp Leadership Supervise and engage children during camp activities such as snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, nature adventures, and bowling. Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members during activities, ensuring consistent routines, effective communication, and a positive camper experience. Ensure all children's physical and emotional needs are met, including personal care support such as diaper changes and bathroom assistance. Foster a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all campers. Maintain cleanliness of recreational areas and equipment. Serve as a positive role model for campers and team members, encouraging participation and good behavior.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children in a preschool, childcare, camp, education, or youth program setting. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and positive in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, staff, and leadership. Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early or late shifts. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. While performing duties, must be able to crouch, reach, stand, walk, and lift as necessary. Able to reach overhead and bend/stoop as needed. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
