The teacher will guide assistants, communicate with parents, teach students life-long skills and ensure compliance with state and center regulations. Below is a detailed job description:

Job Title:

Daycare Lead Teacher ( Lead teacher for the Toddlers Room )

Position Hours:

Full-time (35 - 40 hours) 8 hour shifts + 1 hour break period. Opportunity to negotiate start time (Center is open 5:30 AM - 5:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning:

Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. Excitement to

Teach:

Must come to work with a want to teach children fundamental skills that they will use for the rest of their lives (Tracing letters, using bladeless scissors, how to wash hands properly, following multi-step instructions).

Supervision & Care:

Monitor children during activities, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being.

Assessment & Reporting:

Track and document children's progress, behavior, and milestones, sharing updates with parents and administrators.

Parent Communication:

Maintain open and professional communication with parents regarding their child's development and daily activities.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, providing guidance and support.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow and enforce health, safety, and sanitation guidelines as per state and daycare policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent AND either: Sixty semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six. Center-based Infant-toddler CDA Preferred but not required: An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Previous experience in a childcare setting, preferably as a teacher or assistant.
