Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic School-age Assistant and driver to inspire and support children during their before and after-school hours; part-time or full-time available. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your expertise in childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum development will help foster a love of learning while ensuring each child's individual needs are met. Assistants provide transportation for children to and from elementary schools in the area. Responsibilities Drive center van to transport children to and from elementary school; also field trips Supervise children. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, cooperation, enthusiasm for learning, and overall well-being. Assist lead teacher with other younger age groups when school-age children are in school Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and productive environment both inside and outside of the building. Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction in learning activities. Assist with homework and learning activities. Assist with child meal service and cleanup Assist with attendance and meal service record-keeping Assist with the organization, sanitation, and maintenance of the center Collaborate with parents and caregivers regarding students and individual needs Supervise children in summer camp activities Participate in monthly staff meetings and in-service training Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position • Qualifications 2+ years prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is highly preferred Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment Experience in behavior management techniques Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management strategies. Strong understanding of childhood development principles. Ability to supervise and engage students effectively across various age groups. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team while being adaptable to changing classroom dynamics Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff, parents, and students. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning journeys. Excellent driving skills and proven record from the DMV Requirements 2+ years experience working with children High-school diploma Certificate College credits in Education or early childhood a plus 2+ years of excellent driving record Proven good driving record from the DMV Background check facilitated by us Join us in creating a joyful, supportive space where children can thrive!
