We are seeking a qualified, passionate, dedicated and dependable Lead Teacher to join our licensed daycare center. In this role, you will in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children during their formative years. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster early childhood development, ensuring each child's social, emotional, and cognitive growth is prioritized. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable classroom experience in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and developmental milestones. Support children's learning through engaging activities that promote creativity, curiosity, and social interaction. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and positive behavior management at all times. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence. Support children with personal care routines such as diapering, toileting, and feeding as needed. Observe and document individual children's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team to tailor instruction accordingly. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with state regulations. Supervise children during play, meals, nap times, and educational activities to ensure safety and engagement. Organize materials, set up learning stations, and maintain a clean, organized environment with assistants. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by following individualized plans and working closely with specialists. Requirements 6 months - 1 year experience with young children in settings such as in a licensed daycare center, preschool, or similar environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices with classroom leadership and lesson planning experience preferred . Certification in pediatric first aid and basic child CPR is highly preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus but not required. Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude. Understanding of behavior management techniques suitable for early learners and toddlers. Teacher Qualification (must meet one) CDA certificate from the CDA Council Have 60 college credits with 6 credit hours in a DCFS approved early childhood course Have 1560 clock hours in a licensed daycare plus 30 credit hours with 6 credit hours in a DCFS approved early childhood course.
