Position Type:
Direct Hire General Purpose of Job TEMPO Employment Services is recruiting a compassionate and dependable Early Childhood Educator for a well-established childcare program in the Presque Isle area. Both part-time and full-time schedules are available. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with toddlers as well as children with ADHD, autism, and other individual needs. Schedule The employer is ideally seeking a full-time employee available Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Part-time applicants will also be considered, and the employer may hire two part-time employees based on availability and program needs. Essential Functions Provide safe, compassionate, and attentive care to children throughout the day Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, playtime, rest periods, and transitions Create a positive and welcoming environment that supports each child's development Assist with age-appropriate educational, recreational, and social activities Work with toddlers and children with ADHD, autism, or other individual needs Follow established childcare routines, safety procedures, and program policies Support children with patience, consistency, and appropriate redirection Maintain clean, organized, and safe classroom and play areas Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and program leadership Report concerns regarding a child's safety, health, behavior, or development Complete required training and maintain all necessary documentation and credentials Perform other related duties as assigned Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required; a current college transcript may also be accepted Must successfully complete a Maine Department of Health and Human Services fingerprint-based background check through IdentoGO Must provide documentation of current required vaccinations Must be willing to become certified in First Aid and CPR Must complete all required childcare, health and safety, and mandated reporter training Must have reliable transportation Must be willing and able to work with toddlers Must be comfortable supporting children with ADHD, autism, and other individual needs Must demonstrate patience, dependability, compassion, and sound judgment Previous childcare, education, behavioral health, or caregiving experience is preferred but not required Employee Benefits and Incentives Eligible employees may receive: Paid time off Access to an employee-funded Roth IRA retirement program A state-funded bonus after completing 30 days of employment and required childcare training TEMPO Employment Services is an EEO/AA employer.
