About Our Preschool We are a small, nonprofit preschool dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, play- based learning environment for children ages 2.5-5. Our close-knit team values creativity, patience, and strong communication with families. With small class sizes (6-8 students), we focus on individualized attention and developmentally appropriate learning. Position Summary We are seeking a caring, energetic teacher to join our team on or before August 1. You will lead a single classroom of up to 10 students (or independently if necessary). This is a hands-on role that includes lesson planning, classroom management, and daily communication with families. Responsibilities Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the classroom program and child assessment Oversee overall care and supervision of children Create and implement daily play-based learning activities Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom environment Foster social-emotional and developmental growth Communicate regularly with parents and the school board Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure smooth daily operations Establish routines and conduct daily activities, meals, and transitions Establish a classroom setup, organization, and maintain a clean learning space Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety regulations Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience 3 hours of MiRegistry approved training in each of the following areas: program management, observation, documentation, and assessment, teaching and learning 6 hours of MiRegistry approved training in any of the following areas: interactions and guidance, challenging behaviors, trauma informed practices 3 semester hours, 4.5 CEUs or 45 hours of MiRegistry approved track of infant and toddler development and care practices within 6 months of hire High school diploma or GED CPR and first aid training (or obtained within 3 months of hire) Be no less than 19 years of age CDA preferred buy not required Skills and Physical Requirements Ability to build authentic relationships with diverse families and children Physically able to bend, lift, and sit and children's level Ability to work indoors/outdoors and engage in physical activity with children Comfortable with exposure to cleaning supplies, bodily fluids, common childhood illnesses Reports to: Teaching Director Board of Directors Applications due on or before July 11, 2025.
