We are looking for a Child Care- Closer to maintain the cleanliness of our facility. This position is Monday through Friday from 3:00-6:30 PM, with the possibility of additional hours. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide assistance in all classrooms as needed, maintain cleanliness of common areas, complete classroom daily laundry/dishes, clean and prep the facility for the next day and lock up the facility. Additional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
To assist teachers in all classroom functions, tend to children's needs, maintain room design, adhere to health and safety procedures and to take the role and position when the teacher is not present
Ensuring professional development requirements are met, more specifically 16 hours of training per year.
Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing, feeding, etc.)
Maintain a professional self-image and always project the values of Hometown Childcare.
Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service
Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends
Physical ability should be sufficient to frequently bend, stoop, sit on the floor and lift up to 40 pounds.
The openness to receive feedback on issues that will facilitate growth and achievement of both students and teachers
A passion for teaching children and watching them learn and grow
Qualifications:
High school diploma, or equivalency Be willing to submit to an extensive background check. CPR certified, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen Training Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom Assistant Caregivers must be at least 18 years of age and meet all child daycare licensing guidelines required by the state of Michigan.
