Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Child Care Assistant. In this part-time afternoon position, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. You will assist in the daily care and development of children, ensuring their well-being and promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and making a positive impact in their lives. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment. Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and educational programs. Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance to promote positive social interactions. Support children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Maintain a clean and organized environment, including classrooms and play areas. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive team atmosphere. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hygiene practices are followed. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for all children. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in early childhood education preferred. Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary. Background check clearance as required by state regulations.
