Job Description

Job description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our team. This position can be a part-time or full-time permanent position. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. Aptitude, education and/or experience in early childhood education, along with the ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and implement engaging play-based lessons tailored to 3-9yo children. We draw from Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Forest Schooling, Whole Child, and Responsive Classroom educational approaches so spend a lot of time outside and adapting to the interests of the children in our care with emphasis on the natural environment and materials, sustainability, and engaged with a variety of art methods and materials. Duties & Skills
  • Assist in implementation of age-appropriate activities for preschoolers and elementary students.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment encouraging curiosity, exploration, & social-emotional growth
  • Manage behavior effectively using redirection and positive behavior management to promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Communicate regularly, respectfully, and effectively to best support the needs of students.
  • Collaborate to create a cohesive educational experience that supports each child's development.
  • Provide early intervention strategies and offer established support tools for children who may need additional help to support their learning journey.
  • Work cooperatively to maintain clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and adapting teaching methods as necessary (responsive classroom environment.)
  • Experience working with children in settings such as home, childcare, and/or educational institutions.
  • Familiarity with child-centered teaching approaches, nature, gardening, and sustainable-practice experience is a plus!
  • Timely & responsible: calling in or being late 80% of schedule work time you've requested with

Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
