Job Overview Join our vibrant home-based Early Headstart Childhood Education team as a Daycare Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. In this role, you will support lead teachers in delivering engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children from infancy through preschool age. Responsibilities Assist with supervising children during playtime, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure their safety and engagement Support classroom management by helping implement lesson plans aligned with childhood development principles Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration Provide attentive care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed Collaborate with lead teachers to observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones Support behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions and social skills among children Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure a secure environment for all children Qualifications Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development stages and age-appropriate activities Certification in first aid and CPR, and CDA is required or willing to obtain upon hiring Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including infants through preschoolers Familiarity with behavior management techniques and caregiving best practices in early childhood settings Join us in fostering a joyful learning environment where every child feels valued and inspired!
