Job Description

Glen Cove Child Day Care is a reputable childcare center committed to providing high-quality care and early education to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We prioritize creating nurturing and stimulating environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Our dedicated team of educators plays a crucial role in shaping the early experiences of the children in our care. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Toddler Room Teacher to join our team. The Toddler Room Teacher will be responsible for providing loving care and age-appropriate learning experiences to children 18 months to 3 years old. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child development, strong communication skills, and a nurturing demeanor.
Responsiblities:
1. Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants to explore, learn, and develop. 2. Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. 3. Maintain a consistent daily routine that includes feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime, following individualized schedules for each infant. 4. Establish positive and nurturing relationships with infants and their families, fostering open communication and collaboration. 5. Observe and document each infant's growth, development, and milestones, and communicate progress to parents/guardians regularly. 6. Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation practices are followed in the infant room, including cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment, and surfaces. 7. Collaborate with other members of the childcare team to plan and coordinate activities and events that promote a sense of community and belonging. 8. Stay current on best practices and research in infant care and early childhood education, participating in professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
1. CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or higher in early childhood education required. 2. Previous experience working with children in a childcare or early education setting. 3. Deep understanding of child development, including milestones, attachment theory, and best practices in toddler care. 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with infants, parents, and colleagues. 5. Patient, nurturing, and compassionate demeanor, with a genuine love for working with young children. 6. Ability to maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, with keen attention to detail and safety protocols. 7. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of infants and their families.
