Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Lead Teacher (afternoon 12:00pm-5:00pm M-F )! In this dynamic role, you will inspire and nurture young learners during their crucial developmental years, fostering a love for learning through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. As a dedicated leader in the classroom, you will create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills. Your passion for early childhood education will help shape confident, joyful learners ready to explore the world around them. We follow the Millbrook Central School District Calendar and give PTO for holiday/school closings. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills. Lead daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring each child's individual needs are met through tailored instruction and behavior management strategies. Foster positive relationships with children by providing nurturing guidance and encouraging exploration and independence. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns to build strong home-school partnerships. Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR protocols. Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events, assessments, and classroom modifications for children requiring special education or early intervention support. Document child development progress using standardized testing tools and maintain accurate records in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Experience Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting, demonstrating strong classroom management and child development instruction skills. Knowledge of curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education tailored for early learners. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom organization strategies to foster a positive learning environment. Experience working with children requiring special education services or early intervention programs is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in childhood development or special education are advantageous. Prior experience in private school settings or similar educational environments is preferred. Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
